5 Questions That Will Make You A Better Leader

Great Leadership requires a higher level of thinking. meaning the ability to not only question others but just as importantly to question ourselves.

The word Leadership of course implies that we are guiding not only the direction of a organization but also the people within the organization.

As a leader I would like you to consider that there are 3 side to every story. Sadly most people opinions are barely based on one.

It doesn’t matter if you have seen yourself as a conservative or a liberal, a Muslim, Jew or Christian (or anything else for that matter)

Part of the job of being a leader is to access any given situation. If as a leader you genuinely wants to have a fully informed opinion there’s a need for you to think like a journalist! This means asking yourself these 5 questions:

• What do I think I know about “this”?
• What don’t I know?
• If strong evidence were to be presented to me that contradicts what I presently believe, am I truly open to hear/see it? Furthermore, am I willing to admit that I was wrong?
• Who do I know or know of, who might know more than I do about “this” than I do?
• What might be my bias in this situation, and can I get past that bias in order to construct a genuinely well informed opinion?

The willingness to genuinely ask such questions is a sign of not only great leadership but also EQ.
