Top 10 Reasons To Never Hire a Mentor!

I’m sure that as a successful and evolving leader you know that fools (no matter how ‘wealthy’ or ‘successfully’ they are, or appear to be) think that it’s weak to hire someone like a coach or a mentor; they may even have believed that it means they are somehow deficient.

The reality of it is this: Those who are really at the top of their game, whether they are top athletes, celebrities, business leaders, or top political figures are all committed to creating outstanding results in their lives and their careers. That’s because this kind of outstanding achiever always has not only coaches but mentors who can elicit from them the kind of personal power that they may have only suspected was buried within them.

In fact no matter how brilliant you may be, and I know you’ll fully grasp this: It is impossible to be fully objective in your own life. Meaning we often cannot see the truth of what’s going on in our own lives as clear as a specialist on the outside can.

The challenge is that for many of these people, people who are performing at such an extraordinary level, it can hard to know whether the opinion or input they are getting is real or is a reflection of their own position. Or worse it can be too easy for them to fool themselves into thinking that because they have such outstanding levels of success in one area, that they should somehow magically know how to reach those same levels in other areas. Areas in which they may have no experience and or very bad training.

Let me make it clear, with more than 30 years of experience doing what I do: Everyone both needs and deserves a mentor! Why? Because success, no matter how big it looks, is at best momentary in delivering the kind of deep satisfaction and fulfillment we all desire.

When you just stop and think about it: For those leaders who are genuinely committed to constant evolving excellence hiring a Mentor is the only thing that makes sense, if you are committed to finding out what’s next.

If you have a mentor or coach that you pay (skin in the game makes all the difference); congratulations! If you don’t, get out from under the weight of your B.S excuses and get one. (Preferably someone you presently believe can’t fully afford, it will put fire on your butt)

P.S. If you do have one, check to make sure you have not gotten too familiar that you’ve stopped fully following their guidance. If you have gotten too familiar either fully recommit (pay them more), or upgrade to a new Mentor.

However, If you are any of the below, don’t even bother!
